Victoria & Matthew Wedding - Woodhill Hall

Where do I even begin to tell you about Victoria & Matthew’s amazing wedding at Woodhill Hall. Firstly Victoria and Matthew both now live in America, so weren’t back in the country until days before the wedding. We therefore planned to look around Woodhill Hall, the night before the wedding, as they were staying there with friends and family. A few days before Victoria asked if I would like to stay the night before, as they had  a spare room and it would save me having to drive back to Otterburn in the morning. What a great idea! What they didn’t tell me was I would be staying in the ‘Loveshack’ cabin! What I loved about Woodhill Hall was how Victoria, Matthew and their friends and family had the place to themselves the night before the wedding. Matthew’s Dad runs Taste of Persia in Newcastle, so was making full use of the the awesome BBQ hut the night before the wedding. There was lots of amazing food for everyone and of course some awesome local real ale, supplied by real ale fan Matthew. The night before the wedding was a really nice relaxed atmosphere and I was made to feel like one of the wedding guests by everyone. The following morning breakfast was served again by Matthew’s Dad and everyone got tucked in before the wedding prep started. The wedding day itself was amazing from start to finish. Victoria looked absolutely stunning in her Amy Kuschell dress and Matthew looked rather dapper in his tuxedo as well. We had a little shower just before the meal, meaning we did the photographs afterwards and boy am I glad we waited! The light was just amazing!!! Coupled with the fact this was my first wedding with my brand new Nikon D750 camera, I was in my element! The sun was low in the sky and casting some amazing shadows in the wooded area. I managed to get some stunning shots for their wedding album and we were literally spoilt for choice, with which ones to include in their wedding album. Victoria and Matthew also had a really cool Persian ceremony, just before the first dance. This involved lots of dancing with knives and the groom trying to bribe the dancers with money. One last thing that makes this wedding so unique, was that Victoria and Matthew had also asked me to do a DJ set as well. Victoria knew me from my DJ’ing days when I was younger and asked if I would do a rare disco set. This is the only wedding I’ve ever DJ’d at, apart from my own and I had a great time! Thanks again for asking me to play a part in your amazing wedding day guys, it really was an honour!
