Claire & Craig Wedding - Healey Barn

A huge thanks to Claire & Craig for allowing me to share some of my favourite photographs from their amazing wedding day at Healey Barn. As soon as I’d met Claire and Craig, I knew their wedding was going to be a cool affair and I wasn’t wrong! On the morning of the wedding I caught up with Craig and his brother who were getting ready at the Angel Inn in Corbridge. When I arrived there was a vintage Ford Mustang parked outside, ready to take them to Healey Barn, courtesy of Craig’s Dad who was chauffeur for the day. The room they were getting ready in was crammed but the lighting was awesome and I loved the moody shots of Craig getting ready. The lads then went on to the venue and I went to catch up with the ladies. Upon arrival it was one of the most relaxed bridal parties I’d ever seen. The girls were laughing and joking around and soon Claire was ready and looking stunning. I love the portrait of Claire against the vintage style wallpaper, which was Craig’s decorating choice. Claire joked that she still wasn’t sure about Craig’s decision but the photo came out lovely and I think I might have just saved it for Craig or at the very least immortalised it, as it now features in their wedding album. Craig’s Dad then collected the girls and raced them to Healey Barn with the roof of the Mustang down. Arriving early (How often does that ever happen?) they had to hide behind the building, whilst the guests sat down. Claire walked down the aisle, to great her emotional Dad at the bottom with a kiss on the head. Healey Barn has one of the most beautiful ceremony rooms I’ve ever had the pleasure of shooting in and it always makes for a great backdrop for photos. After the ceremony, we went to the nearby forest for photos. They couldn’t have picked a nicer day and that late summer evening sun was just perfect, with shafts of light coming through the trees and acting like spotlights illuminating Claire and Craig. I then got some cool shots of them with the Mustang before getting them back to the party for their meal and speeches. Day turned to night pretty quick and they had open fires outside and marshmallows for their guests to enjoy. Craig was in charge of the playlist and managed to include everything from disco to some obscure electronica (right down my street!). He later informed me that he even managed to get the guests dancing to 1982 disco classic ‘Boogie in Your Butt’ by none other than Eddie Murphy (yes the actor!). Wish I’d been there to see that! As they mentioned in their testimonial I feel like I’ve gained two friends along the way and I look forward to catching up with them both soon x
