100 not out! Miles & Jenny at Wylam Brewery

Earlier this year I photographed my 100th wedding as Eye of the Tyne Photography. Luckily for me I had the super cool Jenny & Miles at the awesome Wylam Brewery, helping me mark the occasion!

I’ve been a huge fan of Wylam Brewery (and their beers!), since it opened in exhibition park a few years ago. So I was really excited when Jenny & Miles had booked me to photograph their wedding there. On the morning of the wedding, I spent it with bride Jenny and her bridesmaids at her home. They were playing some awesome funk and soul music, so I knew right then it was going to be a good day! Their home had some really cool artwork and tiles too, which I used in my photographs. I loved the shot of Jenny’s dress hanging against the Queen’s crown picture and also her shoes on her new bathroom floor tiles too!

Once the girls were ready I raced ahead to Wylam Brewery, to get some photos of groom Miles and his best man. Usually just before the ceremony I turn my phone off. Luckily I hadn’t turned it off quite yet and it started to ring with bride Jenny’s number flashing up (strange I thought!). I answered my phone and it was one of Jenny’s bridesmaid’s informing me that their car hadn’t turned up and that they were waiting for a new one,  meaning they were going to be a little late for the ceremony! Groom Miles was already starting to look like a nervous wreck by this point and I love the photos of him and his best man stood at the front, both looking worried and checking their pocket watches.

Bride Jenny finally arrived a little later than planned and the ceremony took place inside the stunning main hall at Wylam Brewery. The ceremony had a few laughs of it’s own including groom wiping sweat off the best man Peter’s brow when he came up with the rings, as he’d been sat in a perfect spot of sunlight and was melting during the ceremony.

After the ceremony we headed outside and enjoyed some amazing spring weather (it really did feel like the start of summer!). They’d even hired the train ride at the rear of Wylam Brewery for the guests to ride on, which was great fun! Just before the meal I took them inside for a few photographs and the lighting was just phenomenal! Then after the meal I managed to get them out for sunset and again it didn’t disappoint. These shots around the lake are some of my favourite images from the day! We then headed back inside to party and after their confetti showered first dance it was party time, with the soul and funk music in full swing! It was one of those weddings that I would have loved to have stayed and partied with them all night! I loved their wedding so much, I’ve even had a second copy of their album printed which I now show new couples as an example of my work. Thanks again for asking me to photograph your wedding Jenny & Miles, it was awesome!!
